Why Day 9 focuses on tracking

After a parcel leaves the warehouse, the buyer loses direct control. A tracking number may exist before the carrier scans it, a customs hold may not update daily, and a local delivery problem can look like a Mulebuy problem when the carrier is now responsible. A useful guide should separate normal silence from a signal that needs action.

Tracking status checklist

Status signalHuman decision
Label created but no movementWait for the first carrier scan unless the route's normal handoff window has clearly passed.
Export or airline handoffExpect gaps. International line-haul scans can be sparse until the parcel reaches the destination country.
Customs processingCheck destination customs expectations, declared value, item mix, and whether the carrier requests documents or tax payment.
Local delivery exceptionUse the destination carrier tracking page, confirm address details, and save screenshots before contacting support.
No update after a long holdPrepare evidence: parcel number, tracking number, shipping line, payment time, QC screenshots, declaration details, and carrier status.

Evidence to keep before contacting support

Support escalation is stronger when the buyer can show a timeline instead of a vague complaint. Save the order number, parcel number, tracking number, selected route, shipping payment date, declared value, destination country, QC approval screenshots, parcel-detail screenshots, and the latest carrier page.

  • Capture both Mulebuy tracking and the destination carrier tracking page.
  • Record when the status first stopped changing.
  • Keep proof of address, phone number, and recipient name exactly as submitted.
  • Note whether the issue is before export, in customs, with the airline, or with the local carrier.
  • Check insurance terms before assuming compensation applies.

When not to panic

A tracking pause is not automatically a lost parcel. Early label creation, airline handoff, destination-country customs, weekend handling, route congestion, and local-carrier intake can all create quiet periods. The key is whether the silence is still normal for that route or whether it has moved into an exception state.

When to escalate

Escalate when the parcel shows a clear delivery exception, the carrier asks for action, customs requests documents, the address is wrong, the tracking has exceeded the route's reasonable update window, or the parcel status contradicts the service promised by the selected shipping line.
